NEW GLASGOW – Anne L. “Anna” Dort, age 93, of the Glen Haven Manor, formerly of Norma Street, New Glasgow, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 in the Manor.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret (Lewis) Ryan.
She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and the CWL.
She is survived by son, Douglas (Isabelle), New Glasgow; daughter, Beverley Sinclair, Halifax; grandchildren: Calvin (Sheri); Pam (Kurtis); Susan (Philip); Laurie (Mark); Matthew; Jillian (Devin); great-grandchildren, Amy and Clare; sister, Imelda MacLean, Aylesford, NS; brothers, Hugh (Doreen), BC; William (Carol), Ottawa; sister-in-law, Marguerite Ryan; brothers-in-law, Colin MacInnis; Herb Legere; cherished nephew, Michael Legere, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Omer; daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Hayman; brothers, Frank and John; sisters: Catherine Atkins, Isobel MacDonald, Claire MacInnis and Alice Legere.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Saturday in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to Holy Cross Cemetery or a charity of choice.
