It is with sadness that the family of Rita Wilkinson announces her passing on January 25, 2012 at hospice in Kamloops.

Rita is survived by her children, Lorraine Sym (Lee), Theresa Rasmussen (Greg), Fred Wilkinson (Karen), Fiona Kitt (Wylie), Tanya Fortune (Craig); her grandchildren, Brandon, Kirsten, Wylie, Ally, Matthew, and Kyle; her foster daughter, Laura Balogh, and her siblings, Dennis, Ed and Bill Barker and Gloria Bagg.

Thanks to special friends Guy and Marilyn Pouliot, and to Dr. David Ritenburg and Jenny for their care and kindness to Rita over the years.

A Celebration of Rita's Life will take place at a later date.

In Memory of Rita, donations to Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House would be appreciated.

  “I met Rita around 2007. We have been friends for about 15 years. This is the toughest, smartest and full of life lady who made my world a better place just knowing she was there. I miss her and love her always. My heart goes out to Rita's family, you've lost someone truly special, and I want to extend my condolences to all of you. She's still Rita to all of us and always will be.”
