1991 - 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of Philip Edward McCarthy announce his sudden passing on Monday, January 30th, 2012 in Fort McMurray, Alberta at the age of 20. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his mother Barbara McCarthy, father Kenneth McCarthy (Vickie), brother Joshua (Effie), grandparents Robert and Mary McCarthy; aunts and uncles: Betty Milley, Linda (Robert) Benoit, Roy Milley, Gord Milley, Roberta Giesbrecht (Walter), James McCarthy (Debbie), Clifford McCarthy, Donna Lee (Stephen), Deanna Hulan (Roger); his extended family also included Joshua, Jessica, Destiny and Kirkland, as well as a large number of cousins and many friends. Philip was predeceased by his grandparents Edward and Doris Milley and uncle Robert Milley. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 6th, 1:30 p.m. at the SonRise Ministries Family Faith Church, Wellington Street Corner Brook, Pastor Jonathan Rogers officiating. The interment will follow the funeral service at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Saturday evening form 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Society Of Newfoundland and Labrador, www.parkinson.ca. “Phil..what can I say? I am completely shocked and shaken up by this...20 years wasn't long enough for what you had in store for this world. I'll never forget your laugh (just like josh's), your smile, your jokes, your sarcasm, how hard you worked and how much fun you had with life. I am so honoured to have known you. Newfoundland changed my life, and you're absolutely a part of that.
