Marion Laurenna Covey of Kamloops, B.C. passed away peacefully at Royal lnland Hospital on January 30, 2012 at the age of 81.

She is survived by her loving daughters Bernadine (Bunny) of Kamloops, B.C. and Caryl Covey and son-in-law Kerry Wallace of Calgary, AB; grandchildren David (Sandy) Brown, Candice (Alan) Bruinsma, Asia Longphee, Jamie Wallace and Michael Wallace; great grandchildren James, Jordan and Hailey Brown, Caleb and Hadassah Bruinsma and Francesca (Franki) George; sisters Marg Norris & Muriel McGuire, brothers Don (Helen) Powell, Graham (Brenda) Powell and Gene (Rita) Powell and many wonderful friends and acquaintances.

Marion moved to Kamloops from Ontario in 1948 and met her husband (Albert) Ralph Covey on a blind date New Years Eve of 1948. Marion was predeceased by Ralph (2003) after 52 wonderful years together. Marion worked at the cannery, Woolworths, the Plaza Hotel and finally Sears, retiring in 1988.

Marion and Ralph found joy fishing and camping around B.C. She especially delighted in hummingbirds and loved the flowers and fruit produced in her garden.

Marion loved talking with people, setting the city council straight, and had a tremendous sense of humour. She valued honesty, integrity, hard raTork, family and love, which was amplified in the way she lived her life. lt is hard to imagine the hole she leaves ever healing, though are grateful for having her in our lives, for her counsel and love, and we will forever treasure the special times.

As per her request there will be no public service.

Donations to the Kamloops SPCA or the Heart and Lung Foundation in memory of Marion would be welcomed.
