Nelson, Violet Marie (Smith) – 87, Truro, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Carrolls Corner, she was a daughter of the late George and Hilda (Isnor) Smith. Violet was a long time member of the St. James Presbyterian Church, Truro. She is survived by daughters, Barbara (Einar) Christensen, Halifax, Karen (James) LaRose, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Peter Christensen (Heather George), Ottawa, David Christensen, Halifax, Michelle LaRose, Dartmouth and Mark LaRose, Calgary; great-grandchildren, Julie, Gavin and Soren Christensen, Ottawa; sisters, Margaret Fulton, Stewiacke, Cora Smith, Scotts Bay, Ruby (Alton) Tupper, Enfield, Grace Turner, Milford, Marion (Ross) Barr, Shubenacadie and Avis (James) Densmore, Halifax; sister-in-laws, Muriel Smith, Hardwoodlands, Ruth Smith, Dutch Settlement and Shirley Smith, Stewiacke and Donalda Nelson, Truro. Violet was predeceased by her husband R. Lloyd Nelson; sister, Edith Smith; brothers, Carl, Max, Oran and James. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 5 from 2-4 p.m. with funeral service, Monday, February 6 at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev.
