BUTLER, Bertha Doreen (Sweet)– Passed away peacefully on January 23, 2012, Bertha Doreen Butler (Sweet) at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home in St. John’s, NL. She was 80 years of age. She was a registered Nurse at the Botwood Cottage Hospital. Mrs. Butler retired from the Botwood Cottage Hospital in 1989. Bertha was a member of the UCW, Lioness Club and the 50+ Club. She is predeceased by her husband Bert and parents Levi and Ellen Sweet. Left to mourn are son Barry (Diane); daughters: Lynda (Arjen); Kathy (Paul). Also leaving to mourn sisters: Mary Slade; Marg Dunn; six grandchildren: Christopher (Janna), Michelle, Paul, Amy, Meghan, Kirk; great-grandchildren: Zachary and Katie and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Stephen Barbour conducted funeral services at the Trinity United Church on January 26, 2012. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery, Botwood. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. Urnbearer was her son Barry. Donations can be made to the Trinity United Church, Botwood, NL.
