It is with a heavy heart that the families of Emma Janes announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL, on Saturday, February 4th, 2012, at the age of 96 years. Mom was born on September 18th, 1915 in Gambo, the daughter of Joseph and Susanna (Pritchett) Wells. Mom moved to Deer Lake with her family in 1922, she is survived by her daughter; Ruby Tucker of Deer Lake, her sons; Karl of Newmarket, Ontario, Donald of Vancouver, BC, Eddie, & Bernard (Lynn) both of Deer Lake, her 12 grandchildren; Shawn (Allison), Craig, robert (Crystal), Michelle, Angela (Paul), April, Eddie (Nicolle), Melissa (Kyle), Darren, Cindy (Jimmy), Jason (Jackie), Candace, & 14 great grandchildren, her sisters in law; Agnes Janes of Deer Lake, & Annie Janes of Coxs Cove, her son in law; John Tucker of Deer Lake, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband; Robert (Bob) Janes, her parents; Joseph & Susanna Wells, her brothers; William, Theophilus & Hayward, her great granddaughter; Serra Lynn Janes, her daughters in law; Loretta (Brown) Janes, & Mary (Gilley) Janes. We would like to thank the many home care workers that provide mom with loving care while she was at her home. The family wil be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Sunday, February 5th, 2012, from the hours of 8 - 9 pm, and continuing on Monday, February 6th, 2012, from the hours of 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm, where also the funeral service will take place from Tuesday, February 7th, 2012, at 2 pm with the Rev: Dr: Tony Newell officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot of the Wights Road, Cemetery in Deer Lake, NL. Flowers and or donations to the St. Pauls United Church Fund in mothers memory would be gratefully appreciated by the families.
