Lydia Jane Mary Fisher

Fisher, Lydia Jane Mary, 85, of Londonderry ~ Great Village, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2012, in Glen Haven Manor New Glasgow. Born in Pointe De Bute NB, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Bessie (Townsend) Tower. Lydia was a foster mother for many years having looked after 14 children. She was an adherent of the Acadia Mines United Church Londonderry where she was an active member of the Ladies Aid. Lydia was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by sons, Bill (Glenda), Falmouth; Darren (Sarah) Petrie, Crowes Mills; daughter, Betty (George) Hudson, Great Village; grandsons, Robert (Isabelle) Hudson, Charles Hudson, Leslie Fisher, Chayse Petrie; granddaughters, Julie Hudson, Crystal Petrie, Alexis Petrie; brothers, David (Janet) and Fred (Linda), both of Port Elgin NB; She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; grandson, Aron Fisher; brother, Edward; sisters, Violet Mary and Geraldine. By Lydia’s request there will be no visitation or services at this time. A graveside service and interment will be announced and held at a later date in the Mahon Cemetery, Great Village. No flowers by request. Donations in Lydia’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
