MELANSON, LUCY - 1917 - 2012 - Lucy Melanson, 95, of Moncton, NB passed away on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012, at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Port Elgin, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Mary (née: Leger) LeBlanc. Mrs. Melanson had worked for Canada Post and was a former member of the Champlain Walking Club and Saint Augustine’s parish. She is survived by three daughters: Patricia (Ken) Mulvihill of Ottawa, Linda (Guy) Chiasson of Moncton and Denise (George) Martin of Salisbury; two sons: Robert (Therese) of Dieppe and Donald (Theresa) of Riverview; four sisters: Pam Melanson of Moncton, Lorraine Atkinson of Sackville, Loretta Woodward of Florida and Shirley Groleau of Montreal, QC; one brother, Robert (Lorraine) LeBlanc of Moncton; nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 2002; two sisters: Vicki and Celeste and also by two brothers: Charles and Laurie.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be celebrated from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, Dieppe, NB, on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 at 10 am.
Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. www.chartersville.com
