Robert passed peacefully away at his home in Calvert on February 8, 2012, aged 91 years, in the presence of his devoted daughter Donna and son Danny. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Marion (Condon). Leaving to celebrate and cherish a lifetime of memories are his 12 children: Vince (Ann), Patrick (Rose), Ernest (Barbara), Anne Marie, Mary (Eric Hundert), Wayne (Julie), Ron (Debbie), Jeannie (Paul MacIsaac), Elaine (Robert Anstey), Danny (Christine), Donna, Maxine (Mike Wawrzkow); special sister Madonna Swain; sisters-in-law: Agnes (John Boulos), Harriet Condon, Bridget Condon and brother-in-law Pat Condon (Anna); 27 devoted grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, a number of special nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Predeceased by his parents Vincent and Monica Ledwell and brother Cecil. Robert fished, sustainably farmed and raised a large family of 12 and was an appreciated local historian, entertainer/singer, and storyteller. He will also be remembered for his love and appreciation of his community, Calvert (Caplin Bay) where he was born. A community has lost its elder, with a treasure of songs and stories. He will be fondly remembered. In lieu of flowers donations may be made “The Calvert Hall Committee” or to a charity of your choice. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 10th, 2012, at Fahey’s Funeral Home in Fermeuse. Cremation has taken place.
