While she taught various grades over the years, she finished the latter part of her career at the beginning, teaching Grade 1 with the Kamloops School District. Her life was well lived; she valued highly family, friends, and contributions to her community. Travel was a significant and important part of her life, and she exemplified life- long learning.

She is predeceased by Len Dickson (brother), Jennie Dickson (mother), and John Dickson (father).

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Kamloops United Church, 421 St. Paul Street. A reception will follow the celebration.

In lieu of flowers, should family or friends desire, donations in Daphne's memory to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice House or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, 250-374-1454.

“Although we lived on opposite sides of the country when I was growing up and later on different continents, I still have vivid memories of the few times we met, in Invermere, Waterloo, and Kamloops. I remember a proud, engaged and warm aunt with a curiosity that resulted in many travels around the world. My warmest thoughts and condolences to Uncle Ross and cousins Helen, Tim and Laureen, as well as to Daphne's sisters Elizabeth and Jane (my mom). ”
