It is with both great sorrow and joy that the family of the late John Charles Grimes announce his passing into the presence of his Lord and Saviour at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the age of 101 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters: Marilyn (Monty) Penney, Pamela (Ross) Coles, Valda (Gary) Quinton, Kimberly (Todd) Johnson; sons: Terry (Judy), Alvin (Paulette), Darryl (Joanne), Peter (Joan); grandchildren: Joanne (Randell), Shawn (Tracey), Tracy-Lynn, David, Barry (Debbie), Brent (Kristie), Blair (Melissa), Corey (Tracy), Karla, Brandon, Gregory, Andrew (Victoria), Justin, Meaghan, Mikaela; great grandchildren: Mark, Joshua, Kiersten, Elisha, James, MacKenzie, Leah, Lukas, Justin, also a large circle of relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Ruby (Harvey) Grimes, infant daughter Heather, parents Maude and George, sisters Ivy, Elsie, Pearl, Rose, Bessie, and brother Fred. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday February 22, 2012 from Westside Tabernacle on Elizabeth Street at 2 P.M. with Pastor Calvin Andrews officiating. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Local Food Bank or a charity of one’s choice.
