V. ENID EDWARDS
1923 ~ 2012
“Gone fishing with Kenny”
As she was in life, Enid passed with gentle dignity at the age of 88. Born in Rowley, AB, Enid had many of the Prairie values – hard working, compassionate, tough, family focused and, of course, she could cook, knit, sew and crochet. Enid moved to the Lower Mainland in her late teens and met the love of her life, Ken, while working at Boeing. They married in 1944. Her career was in retail at Woodward’s and, on retirement, they moved to the Sunshine Coast. Creative and artistic, Enid generously shared her time and talents with many organizations. Her later years were spent in Vancouver.
Predeceased by her husband Ken, her brothers Don and Art and sisters Orpha and Esther, she will be greatly missed by her daughter Donna Delaplace, sisters-in-law Edith and Dorothy, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A reception in celebration of Enid’s life will be held on Saturday, March 10, at 3:00 at her niece’s home, 3107 West 33rd Ave. Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, 938 West 28th Ave., Vancouver, BC V5Z 4H4 would be appreciated.
