HILLSIDE – Frederick Allan McGrath, age 77, formerly of Hillside, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 in the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late George and Margaret (Smith) McGrath.
He was a self employed carpenter most of his life.
His is survived by a daughter, Debra McGrath, Trenton; sons, Allan (Debbie Laffin), Trenton; Terry (Nancy), New Glasgow; grandchildren: Tara, Angela, Stephanie, Aaron and Terry; great-grandchildren, Ava Lorena and Gage; sister, Evelyn Davidson, Glen Haven Manor; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife the former Nora Phalen; grandson John Allan; brothers: George, Rufus, Reggie and Charlie; sisters, Hazel and Doreen.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. Friday in the First United Church, Trenton with Rev. Dr. Ken MacLeod officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Hillside Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
