WOOD, Ross Arlen – 65, Truro, passed away peacefully, with his loving niece, Verna MacPhee at his side, on Monday morning, February 20, 2012, at VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born August 4, 1946, in Windsor, he was a son of the late Lemuel and Marjorie (Parker) Wood. Ross worked with Farmers Dairy and was a delivery driver to businesses and homes in the Halifax area. He enjoyed spending time with Janet, his faithful friend, and enjoyed taking day trips with her. Many will remember Ross from Truro Raceway where he enjoyed jogging horses and watching live harness racing. Ross is survived by his sister, Maxine Kelly, Windsor; special friend and companion, Janet Stephens; loving niece, Verna, who had a special bond with Ross; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Ross was predeceased by his sisters, Evelyn in infancy; Pearl Richards; brother, Ernie Wood. Honouring Ross’ wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. If so desired, donations in his memory to Crohns and Colitis Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association are welcomed.
