Crowell, Phyllis Ruth -82, Lunenburg formerly of Wolfville passed away February 19, 2102 in Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg. Born in Boston, USA she was a daughter of the late Clifford Margeson and Maude Kathleen (Barkhouse) Weatherbee, step-daughter of the late Evelyn May “Dolly” Shay Weatherbee. Phyllis had a long working history. She worked in Cinema. Steadman’s, Eaton’s, Belinda’s Dress Shop, Meerman’s Beehive and Porter’s Clothing Store. Although she had not attended for many years, Phyllis was a member of the Wolfville United Baptist Church where she volunteered in the nursery. She volunteered in reception at the EKM Hospital for several years. Phyllis was an elegant skater, avid reader, great baker, made the best bread and apple pie plus many other baked goods, very good cook. Devoted mother and wife who cherished and adored her daughters. Loved animals, especially cats and dogs. She is survived by daughters, Debbie (Michael) White, Aylesford Lake; Beverley Frauzel, Mader’s Cove; Susan Crowell (Steve Moore), Centreville; Kimberley Crowell (Lindsay “Chip” Clarke, First South; Sister: Gladys Gertridge (Dave Appleby), Gaspereau; Brother: Harris (Phyllis) Weatherbee, Wolfville; Several Nieces and nephews and in-laws; many grand dogs and kitties. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Edward Best Crowell and son-in-law Wendell Bryce Frauzel. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held 2:00 p.m. Friday , February 24, 2012 in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville with Rev. Barry Morrison officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Willowbank Cemetery. Flowers or memorial donations may be made to the Animal Shelter of choice or the Harbour View Haven. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Harbour View Haven and Dr. Jones for their great care during and before her illness and for keeping her very comfortable in her last days.
