Joseph A. Antle

Passed peacefully away at his residence on Friday, March 2nd, 2012, aged 74 years. Joe was a well known and respected businessman, operating Antle’s Irving for the last 23 years of his career. Joe was also a fixture of the St. John’s sports community having spent many years in the local softball league, excelling as a player and as an umpire. He was inducted into both the Newfoundland and Labrador Softball Hall of Fame and the St. John’s Softball Hall of Fame. An active and devoted contributor to the community, he donated many years to the Benevolent Irish Society for which he was recognized with an Honorary Lifetime Membership. He was also an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe was a very loving and caring man who was extremely devoted to his family. Left with loving memories is his best friend and wife of 53 years Margaret, his children Joseph (Laura Leah), Sharon, Carolyn (Donald), Paul (Renee), Darrell and Glenn (Michelle), his fourteen grandchildren; Jamie (Daisie), Shannon, Maggie, Samantha, Rebecca, Jonathan, Vanessa, Joseph, Lyndsey, Heather, Julia, Georgia, Mark and Soleil, his ten great grandchildren Molly, Kayla, Megan, Miley, Adam, Mya, Annabelle, Brianna, Cassandra and Michael, his sister Stella Kelloway, his son–in–law Robert Picco, and also a very large circle of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Monday and Tuesday from 1 pm – 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 7th, 2012 from Mary Queen of Peace Church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Home from The Sea Campaign, Sealers Memorial in Elliston.
