The death occurred suddenly at home in Cornwall, on March 8, 2012, of Lorne R. Callaghan aged 61 years. Beloved partner of Anne Mitchell of Cornwall. Lorne was born in Miminegash on Sept. 30, 1950, the son of the late Patrick and Isabel (McCarthy) Callaghan. He is survived by daughters Tracy (Danny) Wedge, Anglo-Tignish, Melissa and Stephanie Callaghan both of Calgary, Alta., and grandchildren Kiersten and Tamara Wedge. Dear brother to Max (Sheila) Callaghan, Montreal; Joyce (Louis) McIver, Chelton; Pat (Florence) Callaghan, Tignish; Eloise (Aubrey) MacDonald, Summerside; Helen (Wally) MacDonald, Fernwood; and Louis Callaghan (Judy Biggar), Seven Mile Bay; in-laws Betty (Ralph) Callaghan, Agnes (Harvey) Callaghan and Marilyn (Stan) Hansen and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Isabel, brothers and sisters Cecil, Philip, Ralph, Harvey, Rosalie, Roy and Marilyn. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road. No visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 12, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 2 p.m. Cremated remains will be interred in the church cemetery at a later date.
