Trenton - Brenda Joyce MacDonald. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Brenda Joyce MacDonald on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her home in Trenton, NS.
Brenda was born on September 10, 1953 in New Glasgow and was a daughter of the late Robert MacDonald and the late Anna Mae (MacDonald) Hiscott. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband Gordie; her son Gordon, Vancouver, and her daughter Denise (Charlie) Roberts, Pine Tree; grandchildren: Desiree and Dawson Roberts; Bailey, Nolan and Shelby MacDonald. Brenda is also survived by her sister Jane (John) Marshall, MacLellans Brook; brother-in-law Pat (Sally) MacDonald; sister-in-law Heather (Eugene) Broussard; as well as step-brothers: Jim (Cathy), Brian (Janet) and Sandy Hiscott; step-sisters: Diane (David) Hamilton, Judy and Pearl Hiscott; aunt Norma Mason; uncle Hugh (Helen) MacDonald; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her grandparents, Fred and Mabel Humphries and step-father, Gilbert Hiscott.
Brenda spent more than 22 years working for the Riverview Home Corp in Riverton where her smile and good humor will be missed by clients and co-workers. She always enjoyed her motorcycle adventures with Gordie and their friends as well as their trips to the sunny south, either on their own or with family. Her greatest joy was time spent with her adored grandchildren. They will all treasure the time she spent with each of them. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday, March 20, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where a memorial service will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, March 21with Rev. Bonnie Fraser officiating. No flowers by request.
