It is with our most sorrowful regret, that we the parents, Joe and Sandy (Gillis) Young of New Waterford, announce the passing of our beautiful son, Ryan, on Friday, March 16, 2012, in Alberta.
Ryan was a great friend to all who knew him. He was a good worker and never missed work. He had a great job with Cenovus Energy in Cold Lake, Alta. for the past four years. It was always a priority for Ryan to stay fit, eat the right foods and basically look after himself. He loved to play tennis, hockey and invite his friends over to watch the fights or just sit back and tell great stories. Ryan had a great sense of humour and he truly enjoyed making people laugh.
Besides his parents, Ryan is survived by the love of his life, his son, Hunter York MacIsaac and Hunter’s mom, Alison. Also surviving are Ryan’s loving two siblings, his brother, Craig (Karen) and their son, Taylor; his sister, Jill (Kolin) and their daughter, Koral; his grandmother, Freda Young; cousins, Aaron, Cheryl and Natalie Gillis and their families, Lee Ann, June, Cindy and Lewis Rudderham and their families. Ryan was also nephew to Ron Gillis and Winnie Rudderham and their families.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Elza and Alex ‘Boozer’ Gillis and his fraternal grandfather, Joe Young Sr.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012, from 2-5, 7- 9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Ray Huntley, is Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Church. Cremation to follow. All are invited to the KOC hall for a reception.
As an expression of sympathy for Ryan, memorial donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
