Deloris Crippen

Our beloved sister and aunt passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012. Deloris “Dot” was born on the family farm near Aylesbury, SK on March 28, 1921. Dot spent her early years on the farm helping family members. She moved to Moose Jaw in 1951, working at first in a small Chinese grocery store for 17 years, and then at Sears for 18 years. Dot retired in 1986. She loved sports and in her early years she played a lot of ball. After moving to Moose Jaw she became a curler and played on the Saskatchewan Curling Team in the Canadian Ladies Finals in Vancouver, BC. Not only did she compete in many sports, she was also a great sports fan. The Blue Jays baseball team was a favorite. Dot also loved to play cards, especially Bridge. She traveled around with her friends to many bridge tournaments. In her later years, she moved into The Bentley, where she had many friends. She loved it there. Deloris spent her final years in Moose Jaw Extendicare. Dot will be greatly missed by her sister Jeanette Armstrong, and her many nieces and nephews, which include Shirley (Lester) Hunt, Roy (Gail) Crippen, Avril (Russ, d.) Kindred, Gary (Sharon) Crippen, Walter Hunt, Gail (Ray) Foster, Faye (Duke, d.) Dutkiewicz, Elwin (Carolyn) Crippen, Kenneth (Yvonne) Crippen, Heather (Terry) Braun, Clark (Rinda) Crippen, Beverly (Philip) Brecht, Carol (Wayne) Farrar, Douglas (Diane) Armstrong, Edwin (Val) Armstrong, plus a number of nieces and nephews in the US and BC. Dot was predeceased by her parents, Walter & Ethel Crippen, brothers Jack Crippen, Mike (Sylvia) Crippen, Bobby Crippen, Joe Crippen, Mel Crippen, Pat (Vera) Crippen and sisters Thelma (Milton Heidelberger), Ethel (Hunt) Forsyth, Beulah (Nordbye) Deta, and Maude (Oscar Jennings). The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Parkview Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place following the service at Sunset Cemetery.
