July 27, 1940 - March 25, 2012, age 71 years. The Dalton family of Conception Harbour sadly announces that after a year and a half of determination to overcome her recent physical disability and illness, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed peacefully away in her sleep at home surrounded by her family. She is gone to be with loved ones that went before, her son Johnny and his wife Shirley; mother and father Frances and Jack Laracy; brother Frank and sister Frances. Left to mourn her passing and taking inspiration and courage from her never ending strength and determination in times of adversity are her beloved soulmate and husband of 51 years John K. Dalton, her daughters Marlene, Diane (Rick), Rhonda, son Kevin and in her eyes forever her baby girl and best friend her daughter Shona; she will be missed by her grandchildren Michael, Jonathan, Bryan and Zayra Power; Michael Dalton and Victoria and Vanessa Spencer. Mourned by her loving sister Mary Connors (Pat and nephew Neal) and brothers Kevin and Larry Laracy; she also leaves her special friend and companion Marg Whelan who was there for her and assisted her daily. Also her dog Sam who faithfully spent every minute of the day keeping her company with a watchful eye. She will be missed and remembered by all of the extended Dalton, Laracy and Hennessey Families and by each friend and person she touched in her life. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Conway's Funeral Home, Conception Harbour Wednesday 10am to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Anne's Church Conception Harbour. Inurnment to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery.
