DALEY, CARSON W. - Bathurst - Carson W. Daley, formerly of York St., Bathurst passed away on March 28, 2012 in his 90th year at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst. Survived by his best friend and wife of 69 years, Wyona; son, Dale and his wife Kathy; daughter-in-law, Carmel; grandchildren: Darcie (Matt), Jennifer (Shawn), Stacie (Phil), Jill, Chad and Jeffrey and great-grandchildren: Daeton, Danika, Olivia and Jorja. Apart from his parents, Carson was pre-deceased by his brothers: Earl and Herbert (Mary) and two of his sons: Perkins and Dennis. Carson was a proud WWII Veteran (South Alberta Regiment) and member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, was actively involved with the Liberal Party of Canada and was a member of Lodge St. John, No. 27, F&AM of the Masonic Order and the North Shore Shriners. Upon returning home from the war, Carson made a living as a fisherman and then worked at the Bathurst Pulp and Paper Mill until his retirement. Carson will be remembered as a kind and gentle man. While busy about town, Carson always made time for a warm smile, friendly wave and welcoming words to all. Carson was a respected member of the Bathurst community and the St George's Anglican Church, devoted husband and exceptionally proud father. If visiting Carson and Wyona on York Street, you would never be able to have a visit or say goodbye to Carson without a box of chocolates being offered. Carson and Wyona enjoyed many adventures and traveled afar but they found the greatest comfort in each other's company. His passing will be an indescribable loss for his sweetheart. Carson lived a long, happy life and leaves behind a loving and devoted family. He will be sadly missed by all.
Visitations were held on at Elhatton's Funeral Home, (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral service and a celebration of Carson's life will be held at 1 pm Monday April 2, 2012 at St George's Anglican Church, 432 King Ave, Bathurst.
