It is with great sadness that the Spina Family wishes to announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Rosina Spina, aged 77, whose soul entered the Kingdom of God on Saturday, March 31st. 2012

Rosina was born in the village of Maione, Italy on December 25th, 1934; the youngest of 10 children born to parents Battista and Theresa Sirianni.

In 1960, she immigrated to Kamloops with her daughter to be with her husband Giovanni who had come to work here a few years earlier.

They established their home on Moncton Avenue in Kamloops, where Rosina had resided until the present. Over the next 50 years, her life revolved around raising her four children, tending to the family garden and spending life and many memorable times with the numerous relatives who lived in the same neighbourhood.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all. She was always willing to help out in a family matter or simply to make a quick cup of espresso coffee to make you feel at home.

Rosina also loved to walk the neighbourhood with her good friends, making many journeys throughout North Kamloops and to MacArthur Park over the years.

Rosina was predeceased by her son Ross, husband Giovanni, her daughter Maria, brothers Giovanni, Pietro, Rosario and Fedele and sisters Christina and Marianinna.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, John (Sherry), Eliana (Robert) Kovac and Paul, two sisters, Elvira and Adelina, a brother Attilio, grandchildren Amanda, Virginia, Angelica, Anthony, Cassandra and Robert and one great grandchild Jordan as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the ER and ICU departments of Royal Inland Hospital for their compassionate care, with special thanks to Kathy for her help in our time of need.

Prayers will be recited on Tuesday, April 3rd at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Father Peter Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 4th at 10:00 A.M. in the church. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery following the mass.
