Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital, Bell Island, on Saturday, April 7th , 2012, in his 77th year. Predeceased by his wife Thelma May in 1992 and his brother Harold Squires. Leaving to mourn one daughter, Elaine (Mrs. Allen Kavanagh) in Galt, 3 sons, David (Cynthia) of Bell Island, Gordon(Sharon) and Raymond, both in Cambridge. Special acknowledgment to son David and wife Cynthia who were his caregivers for 21 years. Also leaving to mourn, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Fred Squires in the Goulds, 4 sisters, Daphne in Boston, Emmie in Toronto, Virture and Pearl, both in St. Philip’s and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home, Bell Island on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. Funeral services to take place on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 11:00 am from Jackson United Church, Bell Island. Interment to follow at St. Cyprians Anglican Cemetary, Bell Island.
