(Retiree of CNR) — Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Thursday, April 5, 2012, Donald Strong Sr. of George’s Brook formally of Clarenville, aged 80 years. Predeceased by his parents Herbert & Annie and five brothers. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Nita of 58 years; daughters Charmaine (Karlis) Zemitis, Theresa (Gerry) Rideout, Trudy (John) Burge, Faye (Harold) Ploughman; son Donny (Jeanette); 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Jean Tilley, Rona Baker; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held Sunday, April 8, 2012 at 2 PM from the United Church, Shoal Harbour with interment at the United Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville. In his memory flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NL.
