NICKERSON, Vivian Leora, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, at Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Bernice (Waye) MacKenzie. Vivian and her husband Francis (Nick) were stationed in various parts of Canada as well as in Germany and France while Nick was with the Army Postal Corps. Some of their fondest memories were of those two years spent in Europe. She loved to travel. Vivian was at one time an avid CB’er, using the handle “Silver Lady”. She enjoyed playing bingo and knitting. For the last year and a half Vivian was a resident of Surf Lodge and she enjoyed the company of the other residents and the teasing by the staff, who treated her as family. She loved playing the games and going to the puzzle room with Mabel. Besides her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her husband Francis (Nick) Nickerson. She is survived by son, Francis (Cheryl), Truro; daughter, Gail (Raymond) Roache, West Head, and by grandchildren, Tina Page, Dartmouth; grandson, Donald Roache, Halifax; Jeffrey (Pam) Nickerson, Red Deer, Alberta, and Colin (Jaclyn) Nickerson, Truro; great grandchildren, Adrien and Tristan Page of Mahone Bay; Serena and Jonah Nickerson, Red Deer, Alberta; Kathryn and Sam Nickerson, Truro. She is also survived by sisters, Josephine Oickle, Pleasant Point and Florence (Elmer) Lloyd, Osborne. She will be sadly missed by family, friends and the staff at Surf Lodge. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. There will be no service at her request. A private graveside ceremony of remembrance will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the staff of Surf Lodge for their love and care of our mother and Dr. Riley and Dr. Doucet for their care.
