Davison, Laura Blanche, 89 of Gaspereau, Kings Co. passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 in the Wolfville Nursing Home, Wolfville. Born in Port Williams, she was the daughter of the late Alston & Bessie (Smith) Coldwell. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She worked for a number of years for Cochrane’s Drug Store, Wolfville. Laura was a dedicated church member where she was a Sunday school teacher & organist for many years. She was a Dominion Life Member of the Women’s Missionary Society & a member of the Gaspereau Gem & Jewels Club & the High Tide Drifters Camping Club for 25 years. She is survived by her husband, Clair of 66 years; daughter, Lana (Terry) Ashby, Newtonville; sons, Barry C. (Brenda I.) Black River Lake; Philip (Lisa), Bishopville Rd. Hants Co.; 6 grandchildren: Tammi (Andrew) Forsythe; Darren (Jennie) Ashby; Belinda Davison; Brenton (Haley) Davison; Andrew (Jessie) Davison; Samantha (Michael) Carpenter; 3 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nell Coldwell, Wolfville. Laura was predeceased by brothers, Cecil, Arnold, Edwin, Albert & Henry; sister, Martha & 2 great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the care & direction of the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. in the Gaspereau Baptist Church, Sunday, April 15. A graveside funeral service was held at 2:00 pm., Monday, April 16 in the Gaspereau Cemetery, Gaspereau, Rev. Mark Shaw officiating . Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Laura may be made to the Gaspereau Baptist Church. A special thank you is extended to the Victorian Order of Nurses & the Staff of the Wolfville Nursing Home for their compassionate care.
