We, the family of the late Mary “Ronita” Burrows would like to express our deepest appreciation for all the prayers, condolences, love and support sent to us during Mom’s illness and passing. We would like to thank all our friends, family and colleagues who sent food to our homes, Mass and sympathy cards, donations, online condolences and flowers. To those who supported us with phone calls, visits and chats we will always remember your kindness. To those who travelled to be with us at the wake and funeral, we thank you. It is this tremendous outpouring of support that gave our family strength during such a difficult time. Please know you helped eased our sorrow.
A special thank you to Mom’s pallbearers; grandson Liam MacCandless, son-in –law Mike McKenna, nephews Frank and Mark Bettens and friends Vincent Browner and Robert MacDonald, she would have been so proud. To the readers, granddaughters Rene MacCandless and Katie McKenna, you honored Mom with your sincerity and respect. To the organist and choir of St. Anne's Church, soloist Jonathan Smith, thank you for your beautiful music and hymns. To Father Leo Boone and the altar servers, it was a fitting tribute to our beautiful mother. Our sincere thanks to the members of the KOC for the prayers offered at Mom’s wake and a special thank you, to the ladies of St. Anne's Church, for preparing and serving the beautiful lunch following the funeral. To the staff of Curry Funeral Home, thank you for your professionalism and personal touch.
Mom was blessed to have so many caring professionals at her side during her life. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. John Rogers, Dr. Mary Doyle and Dr. Mark Ellerker, your care and attention will never be forgotten. To Dr. Neil MacVicar, ER and X-ray staff at the Glace Bay Hospital, we thank you. To the staff of the New Wing at Seaview Manor, Mom’s home, you were her second family. Not only did you take care of her with grace and dignity but nurtured and prepared us during her final days and we will always be grateful. We thank you for your loving care and concern, it was evident she was as much a part of your life as ours. To housekeeping and dietary your displays of affection and respect for Mom were touching and you to supported us and cared for us during a most difficult time. To Krista, you always made Mom look so lovely.
To our colleagues at Seaview Manor, CBI Health and Dept of Comm. Services; Child Welfare, your continuous love and support will always be remembered. Without you we would not have been able to share Mom’s last days with her, we are so fortunate.
Despite our great loss we have much to be thankful for. Mom has taught us to love and to appreciate all that we have received. We have been truly blessed.
