STEPHENSON: John passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 in Sherbrooke Community Center at the age of 69 after a three year battle with cancer. John was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on April 25, 1942. He was predeceased by his parents Les and Mary, and his wife Rosemary. John is survived by his two children; son Brian, granddaughters Keisha and Sierra, and son Cameron; sister Faye Jordan; brother Tom (Willa) Stephenson; sister Glennys (Dean) Uzelman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was a motivated and gifted salesman, farmer, automotive enthusiast, and outdoorsman. He started his career with International Harvester, living in many Canadian cities and Chicago until another opportunity had him settle in Saskatoon in 1979. In Saskatoon, he was particularly proud of his achievements while working for Rugby Hydraulics and the friendships that endured. He regularly attended events at the Saskatchewan International Raceway (SIR) and Draggins Rod and Custom Car Show. He enjoyed summer camping trips to the many provincial and national parks particularly Sandy Bay of Candle Lake, Saskatchewan. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Saskatoon Funeral Home, (corner of 4th Ave and 25th St.), Saskatoon, on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2:00pm. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Email condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com.
