Ralph Ashworth

ASHWORTH, RALPH - Ralph Ashworth of Plaster Rock, formerly of Anfield, passed away at his home on April 20, 2012. Born in Anfield, NB, on April 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Guy and Madeline (Watson) Ashworth. Ralph leaves behind his son Thomas Ashworth (Cheryl) of Fredericton; his stepdaughters Joan Shirley of Plaster Rock, June Stevenson of Plaster Rock, Faye Edgar of Fredericton, Gay Bedford (Henry) of Plaster Rock; his stepson Gary Edgar (Guilda) of Terrace, BC; sisters Edith McGlynn of Bermuda, Eileen Forbes of Fort Fairfield, ME, Marguerite Cahoon (Richard) of Boston; brothers Cecil Ashworth (Mary) of Fredericton, Hugh Ashworth (Rosemary) of Richmond, BC, Neville Ashworth of Anfield, Robert Ashworth of Vancouver Island, BC; 22 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Pearle Ashworth (Ruff); sisters Kathleen McCue and Alice Linton; brother Claude Ashworth; stepdaughter Lora Edgar; stepsons Floyd and Blair Edgar; grandsons Ralph Stevenson, Mark Bedford, Jason Edgar, and Ian Morry. Ralph was a very active member of the Tobique Masonic Lodge # 48 F.N.A.M. He was a member of the Edmundston Royal Arch Chapter # 10 and served as the Past First Grand Principal of the Royal Arch Chapter of New Brunswick. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Electra Chapter # 9 and a member of the Red Cross of Constantine.
Resting at the Tobique Chapel in Plaster Rock with visitation on Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 2 pm from the Tobique Chapel. Rev. Steve Longmoore officiating. Interment will follow in the Anfield Anglican Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations to Camp Goodtime or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. There will be a Masonic Service held at the chapel on Monday at 7:30 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
