With broken hearts that we, the family of Wilma (MacLean) Gomes announce her passing at the Glace Bay Hospital on April 20, 2012.
Born in Glace Bay, she the daughter of the late Stanley MacLean and Mary Cummings.
Wilma was employed at the Cape Breton regional district school board as a custodian and also employed over the years as a hairdresser.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church.
She was loved by many family and friends, Wilma enjoyed going to antique car shows with the love of her life Sheldon.
Surviving are her husband, Sheldon Gilmour, son, Jeremy, both of Glace Bay; sisters, Cathy (Stephen) Lewis , Alberta, Marjorie (Robert) Overton, Alberta, Shaunna, Sydney; brothers, Stanley, Ontario, Samuel (Vicki), Sydney, Francis (Gale), Sydney; grandchildren, Ben, Dayne; six nieces; four nephews, and one great-nephew.
Wilma was predeceased by her parents.
Visitation for the late Wilma Gomes will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, from 2-4 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 25 at 4 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating with burial in St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery.
