After a long and fulfilling life, Annabelle Knight passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Miners Memorial Manor, Sydney Mines.
Born in Sydney Mines, Nov. 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Orlando Charles and Ida Minnie (Jenkins) Bugden.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Annabelle was a longtime member of Trinity Anglican Church and Anglican Church Women. She was a 50-year member of the church choir, a longtime member of Harbour View Hospital Auxiliary and a founding member of Board of Directors Miners' Manor.
She is survived by her sons, Roy (Mary) and Keith (Janet); granddaughters, Arleen Hetherington and Sara Knisley; great-grandsons, Daniel, Connor, Christopher and great-granddaughter, Teagen.
Annabelle was predeceased by her husband Joseph, brothers, Albert, Lenard, William, Chesley and sisters, Reta Bonnar, Pearl Reardon, Lily Roberts and Violet Pye.
Visitation for the late Mrs. Knight will take place Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Anglican Church with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. Interment in Brookside Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
