(January 18, 1929 - April 30, 2012). After a lengthy battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family, he passed away peacefully on April 30th, aged 83 years. Son of the late James and Catherine Gibbons, St. Vincent’s, St. Mary’s Bay, he leaves to mourn his wife of 52 years, Alice (nee White); sons: Gary, Paul, Sean (Glenda); daughters: Lynn Ann (Alfred), Lisa; grandson Matthew: brother George and his wife Agnes, both of whom are residing at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home. He is predeceased by brothers: Tim (Evelyn), Val (Jen), Tom, Herb (Helen), Larry (Rita) and sisters: Gertrude (Andrew), Elsie (Joe), Philomena (Ed) and Carmel. Mourners include a large circle of relatives and friends, in particular, good friends Ron Clarke and Ed Spurrell. A special thank you is given to the staff and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, for their excellent care and support. We will be forever grateful. Visitation Tuesday and Wednesday, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 3rd, at 11:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church, Waterford Bridge Road.
