Harding, Harold Stanley – 93, Bridgewater, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in the Veteran’s Unit of Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Harold was born December 15, 1918 in Milton to parents Pérkins and Amy Harding. During the Second World War, Harold served in the Canadian Army. Harold, who established and managed several businesses during his career, expressed the importance of professional and business development by having been a president of the Electrical Contractor’s Association of Nova Scotia and president of the Nova Scotia Real Estate Association. He was one who especially enjoyed the company of his grandsons and great-grandchildren. Harold liked the social and athletic dimensions of golf. We thank the staff and volunteers of the Veteran’s Unit of Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital for the good care that Harold received. Surviving are son Merrill (Anne); grandsons Eric (Marla); Jeffery (Penny); great-granddaughter Juniper; great-grandsons Evan and Alex; several nieces and nephews; sister Amy King, Poughkeepsie, N.Y; brother James Harding of Milton. Predeceased by his wife Marguerite; brother William and sisters Flora Colmer and Mary Hamway. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeney’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater where a public Legion tribute will be held 7p.m on Friday with Rev. William Ott, Chaplain, officiating with a reception to follow in Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24, 78 Churchill St., Bridgewater.
