KENNEDY, Sally Nan - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sally Nan (Lewis) Kennedy, born August 10th, 1934, on April 25th, 2012 at Yarmouth Hospital following a brief illness. She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Gertrude Lewis, siblings George Lewis, Jerry Lewis, Buddy Lewis and Nancy Vail. She is survived by her daughter Marni Kennedy Dube (Richard Dube), grandchildren Devan Dube and Julian Babin, nieces Heidi Smith and Jody Vail, nephew Stephen Vail, grandnieces Cailen Smith, Jamie Smith and Fiona Vail and grandnephew Thomas Vail. Sally has left her fingerprints on all of us fortunate enough to have been part of her life. Her strong sense of family, and friendship, was amazing. She may have been a small woman, but her shoulders were broad, and always ready to support us. The original advocate for “buy local”, she was a champion for her community. Her concern extended far beyond her community, as well. Sally was very interested, and well-informed, in global issues, and politics. Her love of nature may have had a hand in her global concern. Sally was a very spiritual lady, who lived her life according to many religions. As she often said, “You take what you want, and leave the rest.” She did just that! Our lives are richer for having known, and loved, Sally. We miss her immensely, but she will remain in our hearts forever. Sally and her family wish to thank all of the individuals and businesses who provided much needed support during the last few difficult weeks in the form of visits, cards and flowers. Donations may be made in memory of Sally to the Yarmouth Food Bank or the Yarmouth SPCA and support Yarmouth’s locally owned businesses. There will be no funeral at Sally’s request. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes and Crematorium Ltd., 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. You may sign the on-line guestbook or leave messages of condolence by visiting www.huskilson.net
