New Glasgow - Audrey Christine Gunn, 82, widow of Alistaire Gunn, passed away at the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
Born in Sutherlands River, she was a daughter of the late Irving and Bertha (Austin) Arbuckle. Mrs. Gunn was a long-time member of Trinity United Church, the U.C.W. and Century Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retiree of Zellers.
She was predeceased by her sisters: Kathleen (Kay) and Mildred; brothers: Earl, Ralph and Ross. Mrs. Gunn is survived by a daughter: Elaine (Sean) Moore, Quispamsis, N.B.; 3 grandchildren: Rory (Faith) Moore, Winnipeg; Marianne (Stuart Lynam) Moore, Halifax; Caitlin Moore, Quispamsis; great grandchildren Evelyn and Audrey Moore, Winnipeg; brother Charles (Eileen), Mahone Bay; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday at Trinity United Church with Rev. Dr. Jim Shaffner and Rev. Dr. Norman Marple officiating. Interment will take place in Abercrombie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Trinity United Church or the charity of your choice, would be appreciated.
