Emma was predeceased by her husband Roy; mother and father Marion and Bill Friske; three sisters Martha at birth, Hilda (Sig) Leib and June Vankoughnet and brothers Adolph and Norman. Emma was born in Bergheim District northeast of Saskatoon. The family relocated to Arborfield in 1936 where she went to school as well as helping with the younger children and doing chores. In 1940 she moved to Saskatoon for work; met Roy at a dance in 1941 and they were married in 1945. They made Dafoe their home until 1945 when Roy was discharged from the RCAF and moved to the Domremy-Northern Light area to farm in 1946. After Roy’s passing in 1980 she moved to Birch Hills where she resided till 200, she then moved into Kopera’s Care Home in Prince Albert. Over the years she made many friends whom she made sure to keep in contact with. You could always depend on Emma to help cook and serve meals at community functions as well as family and friends who unexpectedly stopped by the farm.
