Violet, late of Pilot Butte, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the age of 85 years. She met her husband Bill when she was teaching at Curry School. Violet and Bill were married in Moose Jaw in 1948 and lived and farmed in the Ormiston district until 1961 when they moved to the farm at Grand Coulee and later to Pilot Butte in 1984 when Bill retired.
Violet enjoyed sports, farming, gardening, baking, and most of all spending time with her family and her Church family. In her later years, she quietly enjoyed being with family at the lake, camping, soaking up the sun, or most especially, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their many sporting events.
Violet was predeceased by her husband, John William “Bill”; her parents Adam and Carolina Schneikart; her brothers George (toddler), Adam, Reinhold and George; her sisters Sophie, Betty, Eva, Helen and Violet (infant). She is survived by her children, Terry (Rita) of Calgary, Karen (Dennis) of Nesbitt, MB and Charlene of Pilot Butte; her grandchildren Alison Jukes, Christine Jukes (Luis Garcia), Tyler Jukes (Ashley Roberts), Ryan (Kim) Rome, Reagan (April) Rome, Aaron (Adrianne) Rome, Ashton (MacKenzie) Rome, Carissa (Kurtis) Lolacher, Nathan (Candace) Seon and Danielle McCallum (Curtis Brown); great-grandchildren Hunter, Harper and Berlin Lolacher, Madden Rome (Ryan), Hudson and Theron Rome (Reagan), Grayson Rome (Aaron) and soon to be born great-grandchildren Baby Lolacher, Baby Rome (Aaron) and Baby Rome (Ashton). Mom looked forward to, celebrated and cherished each new baby. She will always be deeply loved, sadly missed and forever in our hearts.
