HOPEWELL – Anna Jean Grant, 79, of Hopewell, passed away Thursday, May 17, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Hopewell, Anna was a daughter of the late Robert and Sadie (MacDonald) Matheson.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Anna will be sadly missed by her partner and best friend, Malcolm (Satch) Vickers; daughters: Vivian Edwards, New Glasgow; Verna Oakes (Bill Holley) and Brenda (David) MacLean of Hopewell. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Brent Edwards, Beth (Greg) Cameron, Bob (Angela) Oakes, Maxine MacLean (Morgan Smallman), Michelle MacLean, Nathan MacLean and Emily Oakes; great-grandson, Michael and great-granddaughters: Jessica, Abby and Madeline.
Besides her parents Anna was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Grant; sister, Ada MacNeil; brother, Edward (Mac) Matheson and grandson, Glenn Edwards.
Anna is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with visitation on Saturday, May 19 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. from Eagles Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Bonnie Fraser officiating. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Anna may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
