MELANSON, MARIA - 1924 - 2012 - Maria Melanson passed away peacefully at the Villa Du Repos on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the age of 88. Born in Moncton on May 3, 1924 she is the daughter of the late Aurele and Anna Bourque. Maria is survived by her husband of 53 years Herve Melanson, daughters; Charmaine Brown, Monique Lewis (Jim). Sons; Daniel and Leonard Melanson. Maria will be missed by her sister Margaret, her four grandchildren and by her five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by sisters Violet, Rita, and Carmella, brothers; Roger, Claude, Gerald and by her son in law Dale Brown. Marie had a great love for children. She opened her heart and her home to many foster children over the years.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24 from 9:00am until 11:00 when a mass of Christian burial will follow in the Chapel of Fair Haven funeral home.
