BOLLMAN, Florence Mae (Sim), age 92 of Swift Current, SK passed away peacefully May 22, 2012 at the Prairie Pioneer Lodge in Swift Current. Florence was born August 18, 1919 to Andrew and Flora Sim on their homestead near Rosetown, SK the fourth of sixth children. She attended school in McGee. After high school she moved to Regina to attend Vogue sewing school and lived with her sister Lynne. She worked at GLO uniform company sewing nurse’s uniforms and then went to work at Regina war plant where she assembled small cannons. Here she met and later married Milton Bollman on April 3, 1943. After saving for a year they moved to Antelope area to farm and remained in the Antelope area until 1969 when they moved into Webb. Florence was active in Sask. Women’s Institute, community 4-H clubs, Chinook Regional Library, Webb Recreation Board and the SPCA Bookstore. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, quilting, knitting, gardening, swimming, walking, bowling, playing cards and visiting both family and friends. She grew a large garden until age 89, cooked most everything from scratch and sewed practically everything that she and her children wore including a silk dress for her 90th birthday party. The family has especially fond memories of her cinnamon buns. We are grateful that she was able to remain in good health and her own home until age 90. Everyone saw her patience, dry humour, quiet strength and acceptance of “what is”. For her family these will be good examples to remember and aim to live by. She was predeceased by her husband, Milton in 1970, one daughter, Vicki in 2011, all her siblings and her parents. She is survived by her sons Dennis (Bev) and George (Merline) and daughters Fern (Matt McNaughton) and Connie (Wayne Sorenson). She had 11 grandchildren, Angela, Melinda, Jonathon, Anthony (Dennis), Scott, Micheal, Loresha (George), Kevin (Fern), Jaime, Tammy, Tyler (Connie) and 13 great grandchildren. Her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Webb Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA Bookstore in Swift Current where she volunteered for years. Parkside Memorial Funeral Home Ltd. were entrusted with the cremation. She will be interred at the Webb Cemetery by her husbands side at a later date.
