John T. McInnis, 86, of Bellingham died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, in the Milford Care and Rehabilitation Center, Milford, Massachusetts.
He was the husband of the late Theresa (Antinello) McInnis who died in 1982 and the late Mildred M. (Pereira) McInnis who died in 2001.
Mr. McInnis was employed by Dennison Manufacturing Co. for many years in Massachusetts.
He was born May 22, 1926 in North Sydney, N.S., son of the late Michael and Cecelia (Murphy) McInnis and had served in the Canadian Armed Forces.
He is survived by a son Michael J. McInnis of Bellingham, Mass.; two daughters, Darlene T. Tyler of Milford, Mass. and Pamela A. Graves of Norfolk, Mass.; four sisters, Evelyn Poulain of Toronto, Ann MacGibbon and Helen McInnis, both of Nova Scotia and Isabel St. Pierre of New Brunswick; six grandchildren, CarrieAnn and her husband Chris Cahill, Sherry Tyler, Frederick Tyler, Christopher Graves, Michelle Graves and Mandie Dion; three great-grandchildren, Ian, Tommy and Elizabeth and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph McInnis and Gerald McInnis and two sisters, Margaret MacDonald and Eileen MacPherson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday June 6, 2012 from 9-11 a.m., at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, prior to the service. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
