MOORE, Muriel Rachel (Benedict), 89, of Mount Denson, Hants Co., passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, surrounded by her loving family. Mum was born on September 7, 1922, in Belmont, Hants Co., to the late James and Bessie (Benedict) Benedict. For the past few years, Mum was a resident at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, but lived all her married life in Mount Denson, and her early life was spent in Belmont, Hants Co. Mum loved and cared for her family, always putting us first in everything throughout her life. Mum loved her family, friends, neighbours and community, very deeply, never complaining, loved a good laugh, listen to music and never asked for anything for herself in return. Mum will always be loved and kept in our memories. Left to celebrate and continue her legacy on life, are her children, Mary (Richard) Hutchinson, Avonport; James (Anne) Moore, Falmouth; Carol (Ray) Smithson, Falmouth; Brian Moore, Port Williams; Coleen (Rick) Pitts, Ben Jackson Rd.; Christa (Michael) Rogers, Falmouth; Alan Moore, Resolute Bay, NWT; Charlene (Allen Milligan) Moore, New Minas; 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys MacBurnie; brothers, Lewis Benedict and Gordon Benedict, all residing at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor; her special brother-in-law, Norman Murphy Sr. who was her Sunday driving companion. Mum was predeceased by her husband, (Gordon) Owen Moore; sisters, Winnie Benedict, Marion Lowe, Lottie Davis, and Dorothy Smith; son-in-law, Gordon Clayton. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Craig Faulkner officiated followed by interment in the Mount Denson Baptist Cemetery, Highway 1, Mount Denson. A reception was held in the Mount Denson Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mum’s memory were requested to be made to the Dykeland Lodge, the Windsor Senior Citizens Bus Society or the Palliative Care Unit (Hants Community Hospital). We the family, express a very Special THANK YOU to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit (Hants Community Hospital) for their love and care shown to our Mum and us her family; and the Staff at Dykeland Lodge who treated Mum with love, kindness and dignity.
