David Robert Woodman, 74, of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Halifax Infirmary, Q.E. II, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 22, 1937, in Falmouth, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Owen and Freda (Rockwell) Woodman. He was a former heavy equipment operator for Dexter Construction for 13 years. Prior to that, he was a carpenter for over 30 years and a member of the Carpenters Union, Local 83. David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna Mae (Burgess); his children, Pamela Woodman (Art Hirtle), Windsor; Robert (Robyn Cook) Woodman, Falmouth; Cheryl (Liz Hood) Woodman, Toronto, Ontario; grandchildren, Emily and Ava Woodman; sister, Mildred Schofield, Falmouth; brother, Frank Woodman (Elaine Warner), Falmouth. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Doug Woodman. There was no visitation by request. A graveside service was 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Town Road, Falmouth. The Rev. Dennis R. Leamont officiated, followed by a reception at the family home, Falmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
