The death occurred surrounded by family at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, of Anita Wedge of Miminegash aged 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Elmer Wedge. Anita was born in St. Edward, on April 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Soloman and Margaret (Laviolette) Poirier. Cherished mother to Linda (Hart) Eichmann, Saint John, N.B.; John (Linda) Wedge, Halifax, N.S.; Gary (Sharon) Wedge, Kildare; Brian Wedge, Miminegash; and Michael (Kathy) Wedge, Houston, Texas. Loving grandmother to Paula, Amy and Cristy Eichmann, Christopher, Becky, Jonathon, Lisa, Adam and Ryan Wedge. Dear sister to Delia Shields, Hamilton, Ont.; Raymond (Josie) Poirier, Oromocto, N.B.; and Sylvia (Gerald) Aylward, Alberton. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Barbara Poirier, Miminegash; Freda (Leo) Poirier, Hamilton, Ont.; Auldine Wedge, Miminegash; Joyce Wedge, Miminegash; and a brother-in-law Bob Kinch, Alberton. She was predeceased by her parents Soloman and Margaret, husband Elmer, infant son Barry, grandsons BJ and Mathew, brother Joe, brothers-in-law Clifford (Louise), Henry (Barbara), Emmett, Joseph Wedge, Joe Shields and sister-in-law Elaine Kinch. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visiting hours Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 1-2:30 p.m. Funeral will be held Friday, June 8, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, where funeral mass will be celebrated by Rev. Jacques Rigaud at 3 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to Immaculate Conception Restoration Fund, Western Hospital Palliative Care Unit or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Palmer Road CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home Friday afternoon at 1.
