Lewis Parker
PARKER, LEWIS ALBERT - Lewis Albert Parker , 87, of Stoney Creek passed away on June 7th, 2012 at the Forest Dale Home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Stoney Creek on April 6th, 1925 the son of the late Stanley and Florence (Wright) Parker. Lewis worked in the trucking industry and later worked as a Stationary Engineer with the Department of National Defense until his retirement. He was a member of the Stoney Creek Baptist Church and also was on the Stoney Creek Cemetery Committee. He was a lifetime member of the Hillsborough Legion, Branch # 32, having served with the Calgary Highlanders from October 1943- March 1946. Lewis was a kind man who loved his family very much. He also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his little dog, Mitzie. He had a great sense of humour and always had a smile for everyone. He was a pillar of the community and will truly be missed. "Lord, you have called me to be by your side, I have left the loved ones that I have loved so much. Please take my place near them." He will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Beulah (Anketell) Parker of Stoney Creek; son, Harold Parker (Donna) of Stoney Creek; daughters, Diane Miles (Ab) of Fredericton and Patricia "Patsy" Parker of Dawson Settlement; his treasured grandchildren, Ronald, Jana, Vicki, Tracy, Derek, Amanda, David and Evan and seven precious great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Parker (Aubrey) of Mississauga, ON and Marie Thomas (Al) of Waterdown, ON. He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, all his extended family, friends and by his special little companion, Mitzie. Besides his parents he was predeceased by an infant son, Rodney; brothers, Omer, Francis, Sydney, and Donald.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Legion Memorial Service will take place on Sunday Evening at 6:45pm, all are welcome. The funeral Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Monday, June 11th, 2012 at 2:00pm with Padre Leonard Geldart and Pastor Doug Steeves officiating. Interment will be held in the Stoney Creek Cemetery, Stoney Creek, NB. Donations to the Stoney Creek Cemetery or Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
