BEYER, STEPHEN - It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen Beyer of Burton announce his death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at the age of 61. Born in Fredericton on September 22, 1950, he was the son of John and Susan (Foster) Beyer. Steve leaves behind his loving family, Tammy Beyer (nee Dickerson) and their children, Jennifer Beyer of Edmonton, AB, Janet (Franco) Guido of Edmonton, AB and Jeffrey Beyer (Jennifer Snider) of Burton; parents, John and Susan Beyer; brother, Andrew (Mary) Beyer of ON; grandchildren, Allison Beyer, Isaac Siliwa, Megan Ireland, Sienna Guido and Kaitlyn and Kaileigh Beyer. Steve was predeceased by his brother, Michael. Steve was employed from 1973 to 2009 as a Computer Technician with the Department of National Defence at Base Gagetown. He was a long standing member of UNDE, Local 60303 and his commitment to the membership earned him a lifetime membership. Steve had a great love for his family, music, and always had a project of some kind on the go. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Steve's family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the doctors and staff of the oncology unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital and all other doctors and nurses who provided care and treatment to Steve over the past 18 months. Their understanding and compassion was a great comfort to his family.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, June 14th, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Friday, June 15th, at 11am with Fr. Ken Weir officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Burton, at 2 pm. For those who wish, donations in Steve's memory can be made to Pine Grove Cemetery, the Oromocto Food Bank, or the Oncology Unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
