We regret to announce the passing of Audrey June Turner of Kamloops, B.C., June 12, 2012 with her family by her side.
Born June 8,1931 in Vancouver, B.C., only child of Irving & Dorothy Milner. Moved to the rural community of Pritchard, B.C. as a young child where she grew up in tough times on a family farm. She met John (Jack) Turner whom she married in 1957 and raised her family a short distance away on their ranch in Duck Range.
Predeceased by husband Jack, her parents Irving & Dorothy Milner.
She will be missed by her children Helen, Chilliwack, B.C.; Harold (Shirley), children Cody & Tamara, Pritchard, B.C.; Joyce (Brian) Roberts, children Jenna & Emily of Knouff Lake and special friends Sheran Monro, Mabel & Zeff Caron & Joy Bradley.
Widowed early in life with young children, she continued to be strong raising her family, and looking after her aging parents & uncle.
Her interests were her family and grandchildren, country life, gardening, very active in the community of Pritchard, and later Kamloops, TOPS/KOPS, Church, Bowling, She was an avid walker and enjoyed her needlework, and had a special spot for birds & cats.
She suffered & struggled with Alzheimer's. Her family would like to thank Audrey's compassionate caregivers at the Renaissance, Ponderosa, RIH 6th & 7th Floors, & Kamloops Senior Village.
A Celebration of Audrey's Life will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012, 2:00 p.m., Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 2481 Sunset Drive, Kamloops, B.C., 250-828-0788.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Society of B.C. or charity of choice.
