September 6, 1939 - June 12, 2012. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, Elva Marie Legge. Predeceased by her father Samuel Higdon, brother Clifford Higdon and brother-in-law Mervin Smith. Leaving to mourn her three children: Sandy (Rob), St. John’s, Gerald (Darlene), Calgary and Brenda (Allan), Middle Sackville NS; and two beautiful grandchildren: Melissa (Dave Cox) and Davis; mother Ethel Higdon, Mount Pearl; brother Verdon Higdon (Iris), Long Cove; sisters: Nettie Williams (Eric), Portage La Prairie, MN, Louise Newhook (Sam), Mount Pearl, Sheila Smith, St. John’s and Rosalind Bailey, Mount Pearl and special friend, Mary McGrath. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
